Yobble is a personalized children's book service. We take privacy seriously — especially because making a book involves photos and details about a kid. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address you sign in with. We use magic links, so we don't store passwords.
- The book inputs: kid name, age, and the optional fields you fill in (description, theme, lesson, dedication). These live in our database tied to your account.
- Photos: if you upload a photo, we use it to generate a stylized character portrait, then delete the original. See "Photos" below.
- Payments: Stripe processes your card. We never see or store full card numbers — only the metadata Stripe sends back (last 4, brand, billing email).
- Generated books: the finished story (text + AI illustrations) is stored under your account so you can re-read or download it.
Photos — the part that matters most
Original uploaded photos are stored in a private bucket — no public URL, accessible only via service-role credentials. EXIF metadata (location, device, timestamps) is stripped on upload. We use the photo only to generate a children's-book version of the kid for their book.
The original photo is deleted as soon as the book is generated (typically within a few minutes of upload). The stylized cartoon portrait stays — it's the product.
You can also delete all your uploaded photos at any time from your account page.
How we use your data
- To make the book you asked for.
- To send you a notification when the book is ready.
- To process your payment (or subscription) and send receipts via Stripe.
- To improve safety — we keep an internal log of moderation events (e.g. when content was flagged) so we can tighten the system.
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use your photos or children's details to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
Who else sees your data
We use a small set of vendors to operate the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
- Anthropic (Claude) — story-text generation. The inputs you provide are sent to Claude to write the story.
- Google (Gemini / Nano Banana) — image generation. The character portrait + page illustrations are generated here.
- Resend — transactional emails (book ready, magic link, receipts).
- Vercel — hosting.
Each vendor processes only the data needed for its role. Stripe never sees a photo; Anthropic never sees your card.
How long we keep things
- Original uploaded photos: deleted within minutes of book generation.
- Generated books, story text, and illustrations: kept indefinitely while your account is active.
- Account email + auth: kept while your account is active.
- Stripe payment records: kept as long as legally required (typically 7 years for tax/audit purposes).
Children's data
Yobble is intended for use by adults (parents, family, friends) who are making a book for a child in their life. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has somehow created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can:
- Delete all your uploaded photos at any time from your account page.
- Cancel your subscription via the "Manage subscription" button on your account page (powered by Stripe).
- Request full account deletion (including all generated books) by emailing hello@yobble.co. We'll do it within 7 days.
- Request a copy of your data (GDPR / CCPA) via the same email.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when we change anything material, and bump the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes we'll also email account holders.
