Yobble is a personalized children's book service. We take privacy seriously — especially because making a book involves a photo and details about a kid. This page explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address you sign in with. We use magic links, so we never store passwords.
- Book inputs: the child's first name, age, and the optional fields you fill in (description, supporting characters, story spark, dedication). These live in our database tied to your account.
- Photos: if you upload a photo, we use it to create the child's illustrated character, then delete the original. See "Photos" below.
- Payments: Stripe processes your card. We never see or store full card numbers — only the metadata Stripe sends back (billing email, amount, payment status).
- Generated books: the finished story (text + AI illustrations) is stored under your account so you can re-read or download it any time.
- Printed-book orders: the name and shipping address you give us for a keepsake, which we pass to our printing partner to produce and ship the book.
- Gifts: if you send or receive a gift, we store the sender and recipient names and emails plus the optional gift note, so we can deliver the claim link.
Photos — the part that matters most
Uploaded photos go straight into a private storage bucket — no public URL. We strip camera metadata (EXIF: location, device, timestamps) on upload. We use the photo for one thing only: creating the children's-book version of the kid for their book.
The original photo is deleted from our storage promptly after your book is generated. The stylized illustrated portrait stays — it's the product. If you upload a photo without an account and never finish a book, that unclaimed upload is deleted automatically within 24 hours. Photos uploaded while signed in are deleted when your book generates, and you can delete them anytime from your account page.
You can also delete every photo you've uploaded at any time from your account page.
How we use your data
- To make the books you ask for.
- To let you know when a book is ready.
- To process your payment and send receipts via Stripe.
- To print and ship keepsake orders.
- To keep the service safe — we keep an internal log of moderation events (e.g. when content was flagged) so we can tighten the system.
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use your photos or your children's details to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.
Who else sees your data
We use a small set of vendors to operate the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Anthropic (Claude) — writes the story text from the details you provide.
- Google (Gemini) and Higgsfield — generate the character portrait and page illustrations.
- Lulu — prints and ships keepsake books; they receive the book file plus the recipient name and shipping address.
- Resend — transactional email (magic links, book ready, gift links, receipts).
- Vercel — hosting.
Each vendor processes only the data needed for its role. Stripe never sees a photo; the AI providers never see your card.
How long we keep things
- Original uploaded photos: deleted promptly after the book is generated; unclaimed uploads made without an account are deleted within 24 hours.
- Generated books, story text, and illustrations: kept while your account is active, so the library is always there.
- Account email + sign-in records: kept while your account is active.
- Payment records: kept as long as legally required (typically 7 years for tax/audit purposes).
Children's privacy
Yobble is directed at adults — parents, guardians, and gift-givers who make books for the children in their lives. Children don't hold accounts and can't make purchases. Any information about a child (name, age, photo, description) is provided to us by that adult, and we treat the parent or guardian as the owner of that information: they can see it, correct it, and delete it — including the one-click photo deletion above.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly, email hello@yobble.co and we'll delete it promptly.
Your rights
- Delete all your uploaded photos at any time from your account page.
- Request full account deletion (including all generated books) by emailing hello@yobble.co. We'll do it within 7 days.
- Request a copy of your data (GDPR / CCPA) via the same email.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when we change anything material, and bump the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes we'll also email account holders.
